The Leesa Mattress is a premium multi-layer memory foam mattress. With layers specifically designed for cooling, contouring, and pressure relief, the Leesa has become a very popular option with shoppers.
I should start by stating that we actually owned a Leesa mattress for well over a year and used it as our primary bed during that time. This was before MoJoSleep, and before I began reviewing mattresses at all. Did we like it? We did. I was perhaps more fond of it than my sleep partner, but it served us well and gave us some insight into long term use that we reviewers typically can't weigh in on.
The Leesa Mattress is a medium-firm mattress, and scores around 5.5 to 6.5 on the scale above.
The high-density poly foam in the base makes for a bouncy mattress that’ll keep you positioned squarely on top of the bed.
The Leesa Mattress comfort layer helps keep the sleeper lifted on top which allows for cooling throughout the mattress.
The Leesa mattress does not have any special built-in cooling mechanisms like gel mattresses, but the 3-layer design allows maximum airflow between all layers and the foam draws heat away from the sleeper. Most customers note that the Leesa does not “sleep hot” as many memory foam mattresses do, but it's still not a cool sleeping mattress by modern standards.
The Leesa Mattress is a mixed-foam mattress. It features two comfort layers: a top layer of 3 PCF LSA200 polyfoam and a second layer of 3 PCF memory foam. The support core is made of high-density 1.8 PCF polyfoam, and its cover is woven from a blend of polyester and Lycra spandex.
Leesa says the mattress is created with 3 layers:
This mattress sinks as much 4 – 4.5- inches during normal sitting on the edge, though it does not lose structural integrity. Its support is focused more in the center or core of the mattress.
